What is Hypnotherapy?

Everything begins with a thought

"Your subconscious mental imagery becomes the energy and the driving force within, and the end result is that the body emerges as a product of our imagination."
You will always remain and be in control!

To help you understand the difference between Suggestion therapy and psychoanalysis therapy, I’ll use the example of a phobia of dogs.

Here are two scenarios.
Hypnotherapy is.......

Hypnotherapy is a combination of hypnosis and therapeutic treatment. Hypnosis basically is a technique,
where your subconscious mind is utilised to achieve a therapeutic ending. Hypnosis can be described as a
heightened state of awareness, dominated by your subconscious mind. As your mind is intangible, it mainly
consists of thoughts; ideas; reasoning; awareness; perception; concepts; memories and is creative. Like calculating, scheming and imagination, to name but a few. Although completely non-material and nonphysical, your mind
is a kind of receptor for everything we experience throughout life.

We all observe the external world and react to it with our own choice of responses and our responses become conditioned for our future behaviour. The left side of your brain is the analytical side, and the right side is the creative side. During the hypnotic induction process the right brain dominates over the left brain. The result of this is that the logical consciousness is superseded by imagination; emotion and the ability to use symbolic and visual imagery.
Your subconscious mind is mostly in control of your entire body. You do not need to remind yourself every second
to breath, remind yourself that your heart needs to beat. All this is done by your subconscious mind. Your subconscious was created to protect you, keep you alive, happy, safe and it is extremely powerful. Everything
in your conscious mind is absorbed and stored in your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind filters what is important or not, and relevant to what to remember consciously.

Hypnosis is a state of mind, enhanced by mental and physical relaxation. In which the focus of attention
is so directed that your subconscious is able to communicate with your conscious mind.
Once under hypnosis your conscious mind is “pushed” aside, and we work directly with your subconscious mind.
As your subconscious mind takes direction from your conscious mind, under hypnosis your subconscious mind assumes that the conscious mind has given permission for the suggestion given and must manifest itself into motor action. Once the suggestion has been accepted by your subconscious mind, it must act upon it. Compromising instructions or negative suggestions will not be accepted by your subconscious, and will perceive this as a threat,
and will thus not act on them. Your subconscious mind is there to protect you!! It will not allow you to do anything
that you ordinarily would not do when you are not under hypnosis. You cannot be forced to tell a therapist
something or be made to do something that you would not do if you were not hypnotised…

You will always remain and be in control!

Your subconscious mental imagery becomes the energy and the driving force within,
and the end result is that the body emerges as a product of our imagination.

Suggestion hypnotherapy and hypnotic psychoanalysis:
Every cause has an effect.
When something happens in life, your body reacts to it in some way. Sometimes we might not know
how to deal with it, that’s where your body responds.
To help you understand the difference between Suggestion therapy and psychoanalysis therapy, I’ll use the example of a phobia of dogs.

Here are two scenarios.
Scenario 1:
A client has an extreme fear of dogs, as he/she was bitten by a dog once upon a time, and now they cannot go anywhere close to dogs, as this gives them heightened anxiety.
The client knows exactly where the fear was developed, so suggestion therapy would work well.
Under hypnosis the fear of that day is released, and new positive suggestions are given to the
Subconscious mind.
Scenario 2:
The next client has a similar fear, but has never been bitten by the dog, and has
no idea why he is so scared of dogs. Hypnotic psychoanalysis would be better for this client.
By going back into the clients’ memories which are stored in your subconscious mind until the memory related to your fear of dog’s surfaces.
This could be something like, you saw someone else being bitten by a dog and this has scared you. As your subconscious is there to protect you, it thought it best to repress the memory as it did not happen to you. But every cause has an effect.
Although it didn’t happen to you physically it still had an effect on you, causing you to have a fear of dogs.
By releasing this memory your fear will also be released.
